Returns & Cancellations Policy
Adirondack Winery stands behind the quality of our wines and merchandise. If you experience an issue with your purchase, please contact us and we will do our best to assist you.
Returns, exchanges, and credits are handled according to the guidelines below.
Merchandise Returns
Retail merchandise that is damaged or defective may be returned within 30 days of purchase with a receipt or order number.
Eligible merchandise may be:
• Exchanged for the same item
• Exchanged for another item of equal or greater value (price difference paid by customer if applicable)
Merchandise must be returned in unused and saleable condition unless it was damaged or defective at the time of purchase.
Wine Returns – Damaged or Flawed Bottles
Adirondack Winery will replace or credit wine that is damaged or legitimately flawed.
Examples of qualifying issues include:
• A bottle that is broken or leaking upon receipt
• Wine that has clearly spoiled or turned vinegary
• A cork failure that results in obvious spoilage
• Damage occurring during shipping
Requests for damaged or flawed wine must be made within 90 days of purchase.
In-Person Purchases
Customers may bring the bottle to one of our tasting room locations. We will gladly exchange it for another bottle currently available. Any difference in price will be refunded or paid by the customer.
Shipped Orders
If you cannot visit one of our locations, please contact us with a photo and description of the issue. If the bottle qualifies as damaged or flawed, we may issue store credit for the purchase price of the bottle, which can be used toward a future purchase.
Taste Preference
Wine is a natural product and taste preferences vary.
Adirondack Winery does not accept returns or exchanges of wine based solely on taste preference or because the wine did not meet personal flavor expectations.
A wine being sweeter, drier, fruitier, or different than expected does not qualify as a product flaw.
Exchanges of Unopened Bottles
Unopened bottles of wine in saleable condition may be exchanged within 10 days of purchase.
Exchanges must be completed in person at one of our tasting room locations.
Customers may exchange for another wine currently available. Any difference in price will be refunded or paid by the customer.
Online & Shipped Orders
If your shipment arrives damaged, missing items, or incorrect, please contact us within 3 days of delivery so we can assist in resolving the issue.
Photos of the package or affected items may be required.
Temperature Exposure
Wine is a temperature-sensitive product and can be affected by extreme heat or cold.
Adirondack Winery may delay shipments during periods of extreme weather in order to protect product quality.
Once a shipment has been delivered, Adirondack Winery is not responsible for damage caused by exposure to extreme temperatures after delivery, including packages left outdoors or unattended for extended periods.
Customers who have concerns about weather conditions may request that their shipment be held until more favorable shipping temperatures are available.
Customer Responsibility for Delivery Conditions
By placing an order for shipment, the customer accepts responsibility for ensuring that the delivery address is appropriate for receiving wine shipments.
Customers should ensure that:
• A person age 21 or older is available to sign for the delivery
• The delivery address is attended during normal delivery hours
• The package is promptly brought indoors after delivery
For best results, we recommend shipping to an address where someone is typically present Monday–Friday between 9am and 5pm, such as a workplace or business address.
Order Cancellations
Orders may be cancelled before they have been processed for shipment or pickup.
Once an order has been processed, packed, or shipped, it may no longer be eligible for cancellation.
Returned Shipments Due to Failed Delivery
Wine shipments require an adult (21+) signature upon delivery.
Carriers typically attempt delivery up to three times. If delivery attempts are unsuccessful and the shipment is returned to Adirondack Winery, the following policies apply.
Scenario 1 – Customer Does Not Want the Order Reshipped
A refund may be issued; however, the refund will be reduced by:
• The original shipping cost paid by Adirondack Winery to send the package
• The return shipping fee charged to us by the carrier
These costs will be deducted from the refund.
Scenario 2 – Customer Wants the Order Reshipped
We are happy to attempt delivery again. The customer will be responsible for:
• The carrier fee charged to us for returning the shipment
• The shipping cost required to send the package again
These charges must be paid before the order is reshipped.
