When are you open?

Are you doing wine tastings?
Yes. We are now offering wine tastings at our Lake George Tasting Room after Jan. 29th. Reservations can be made in advance through our booking system, Tock and must be paid for in advance. Walk-ins are welcome, but VERY limited based on availability; we reserve the right to ask you to return at a later time / date if no space is available.
How long does a wine tasting take?
We have planned up to 45 minutes for each tasting session; however, how log it takes depends on the person. Some people take only 15 minutes! On average, people take 24-40 minutes.
How many people can taste at once?
Due to Social Distancing and severe state capacity restrictions related to COVID-19; we are currently limiting guests to no more than 4 people per party at Lake George and Bolton and to 6 at Queensbury. Those not partaking in tasting must wait outside. Special exceptions MAY be made for larger groups, please call or email.
What happens if I can't make my reservation?
Our Tasting Experiences are non-refundable once booked. If you need to change your reservation time, login to your account on TOCK up to 12+ hours in advance of your reservation time. If you do not find a time slot for rescheduling that works for you, your fee WILL NOT be refunded. If you are more than 10 mins late to your reservation, we WILL NOT be able to promise service to your group and your reservation WILL NOT be refunded. You can always transfer your reservation to another person. Please give yourself plenty of time to travel and park for your reservation. If you think you might be arriving late, please call to let us know ASAP and we MAY be able to move your reservation time (cannot guarantee). If you are more than 10 minutes late, we may give up your time slot to another guest. Please understand that if you don't show up, we will most likely lose the revenue we would have made for that time slot all together; so unfortunately, we need to stick to our no refund policy.
Are children allowed at the Tasting Room?
Due to severe state capacity restrictions and social distancing requirements, children are temporarily not allowed at our Lake George and Bolton Landing Tasting Rooms. An exception will be made for a well-behaved baby strapped to your chest. When wine tastings return to Queensbury in the spring, children can be accomodated there. Please plan accordingly.
Do you charge for a wine tasting?
Yes, for a nominal fee you get to taste several different wines, munch on a crackers or pretzels, and you get a free souvenir glass to take home with you. Dessert wine tastings, plates of cheese, chocolates, and wine slushies may also be available to enjoy with your tasting at an additional nominal charge. Please click here to use our reservation system, Tock.
Do I need to buy food with a tasting?
Due to new government regulations food MUST be served with every wine tasting. We must now require that you purchase at least a single serving of crackers or pretzels for $1 with your wine tasting, but we also offer a la carte options such as wine inspired snacks, cheese plate samplers and our locavore slate plate.
How are wine tastings different in light of COVID-19?
We have always taken great pride in the cleanliness of our Tasting Rooms, but we have added extra steps in light of health department recommendations. Our Tasting Rooms are also now "touchless" for the health and safety of both our guests and staff. Each tasting area will be cleaned after every wine tasting session. Hand sanitizer will be readily available. We have always given a souvenir glass with every wine tasting, but guests will now be required to take the glass with them after use. Visitors will be socially distanced at the Tasting Rooms. You will also be asked to wear a mask when you are not eating or tasting wine. Employees will also be wearing masks when serving and working in the Tasting Rooms. Wine slushies are now available with wine tastings or locavore plate / cheese lover's plates only - no exceptions!
Do you have a public restroom?
We do not have a public restroom at Lake George or Bolton Landing, and due to COVID-19 guidelines, we will not make any exceptions to this rule. At Queensbury, we offer an outdoor porta potty. (Wine tastings have concluded at our Queensbury Winemaking Facility for the season. They will return in Spring / Summer of 2021.)
Do you accommodate large groups and bus tours?
If you are interested in booking a large group or bus trip in the future, please e-mail us at: ILoveWine@AdirondackWinery.com for more information. You can also click here for some more information on large group tours at our Tasting Room.
Do you host bachelorette, birthday or other special occasion parties?
Yes. We offer special occasion party packages (see details here), popular with bachelorette and birthday party groups, but those have changed some due to COVID-19. For more information, please click here. A party package is not a private party, as we do not have a private room at our Lake George Tasting Room. Please view our party package and group reservation policies for more.
Do you host private parties or business meetings?
We normally accommodate private parties in our Bolton Landing Tasting room but we are now planning for future parties only. Pricing is dependent on the size of your party and time/date of your event. Are ALL of your wines sold at your tasting rooms?
From our Lake George and Bolton Landing Tasting Rooms, we ONLY taste and sell our wines made from New York grapes. Click on this link for location information and click here to learn about our wines.
We also make a selection of non-vintage wines that are available for purchase from our Queensbury Headquarters location, on our website, and through liquor stores; but these wines are NOT available for tasting or sales from our Lake George or Bolton Landing Tasting Rooms. Click on this link for location info and click here to see our full wine list.
What is the best time to visit the winery?
Our Tasting Room is open all year, so no matter when you visit, you'll have a chance to stop by. Our busiest times tend to be between the hours of 12pm and 8pm, and weekends tend to be busier than weekdays. View our current store hours to plan your visit.
Where is your wine made?
We are a fully licensed New York State Winery. Our winemaking facility is in Queensbury, NY. At this facility you will find wine-making equipment commonly seen in large commercial wineries; but on a smaller scale.
Do you have a vineyard?
Adirondack Winery does not have its own vineyard. Our award-winning wines are born from the finest quality grapes sourced from farm vineyards across New York state. This method allows us to offer a much broader selection of quality wines (35+ varieties) than is typical of a traditional commercial vineyard winery.
Can I see your winemaking facility?
Unfortunately, tours of our winemaking facility are not available at this time. Check back soon for more info! Click on this link for location info>>
Is the tasting room like a wine bar?
Adirondack Winery Tasting Room is not a wine bar. Our NYS Liquor License does not allow for pouring wine by the glass. We do provide a limited amount of seating for wine tasters and we have a few extra seats on hand for the injured or handicapped.
Does Adirondack Winery sell food at the tasting room?
We offer some great complements to our wine made by local artisan food vendors. These included locally made cheeses, chocolates, sauces, drink mixes and more.
Can I bring my pet to the winery?
Except for Registered Service Dogs, pets are NOT allowed at our Tasting Rooms, as we are not equipped to accommodate pets. We are a licensed Winery Tasting Room and Food Processing Facility in a very small space. While we do not have an outdoor patio, there is a bench in front of the Tasting Room. If you plan to come with pets, please be prepared to have someone sit outside with your pet while others in your party taste and shop.
What about Emotional Support Animals? Emotional support, therapy, comfort, or companion animals are NOT considered "Service" animals under the ADA, nor in the state of New York; therefore Emotional Support Animals are NOT allowed at our Tasting Rooms.
What about Registered Service Dogs? We follow the rules of the US Dept of Justice and ADA for Service Dogs, which states, "Registered Service Dogs are allowed to accompany people with disabilities. Such service dogs must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered at all times."
If you bring a Registered Service Dog to the winery, our staff may ask two questions: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform?
Can I bring my own food to your Tasting Rooms?
Adirondack Winery does not allow take out food or picnic food at any location due to sanitization reasons.
