Winemaker Notes
The 2022 vintage of Pinot Noir presents itself as a bolder-bodied Pinot Noir than most. Forest floor characteristics dominate on the nose with mushroom qualities present and lingering cherry and vanilla undertones. The wine's deep and rich color comes from an outstanding growing season in the vineyard where warm temperatures and less than normal rainfall amounts concentrated berry size and flavors. Cherry, plum sauce, mushroom, and cola flavors find their way onto the palette to provide an interesting and strong flavor profile with velvety tannins at the end.
Food Pairing Notes
This versatile red wine pairs with nearly any red or white meat and also plays well with creamy sauces, spicy seasonings, and brie, blue, or gorgonzola cheeses.
